Nairobi, 3 December 2008 --- Telkom Kenya’s commercial brand, Orange, has announced the introduction of a unique post paid service on its Orange Mobile network.
Orange Mobile customers will now be able to choose from three unique monthly post paid plans namely: Essential, Plus and Elite. These plans will offer subscribers increased convenience and flexibility by allowing them to purchase bundled minutes that match their mobile usage to their lifestyles. These packages will be available in addition to the pay-as-you-go service already on offer on the network.
In addition, subscribers to Orange Mobile’s post paid service will receive either free or highly subsidised handsets with the purchase of every new post paid connection.
Telkom Kenya CEO, Dominique Saint-Jean, said, “Our Orange Mobile network is a brand new GSM service, and we are working towards developing it to the world class standards that Kenyans deserve. The introduction of this unique post paid service to Kenyans is our way of saying: we value you, we are listening to you and we are working towards delivering the best available service.” Communication has never been so flexible; Orange Mobile’s post paid is the only one of its kind in Kenya. Customers can also move up and down between the three different post paid bundles at no cost, subject to how one uses the service. The new offer has been designed with the customer’s needs in mind.
Customers will be able to select five of their favourite numbers to include in the Orange Family and Friends service, 3 numbers on the Telkom network (Orange Mobile, Orange Fixed Plus, and Telkom Fixed), 1 number off the network and 1 international number, where they will benefit from preferential calling rates.
This offer represents amazing value for money. Customers will have the benefit of as little as KES6 flat rate day or night across all networks. They will also enjoy unique free services with the only free SMS offering in the market and free internet access via GPRS. Customers can get connected to the new service at all Orange shops in Nairobi and Mombasa and to other distribution points in the country as the GSM service is rolled out to other major towns countrywide.
