In this issue: CBK cancels a forex bureau license, and CCK receives new license applications.
Central Bank Cancels Forex Bureau License Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) Governor Njuguna Ndung’u has canceled the license of Masai Mara Forex Bureau Ltd. This means that the bureau is no longer allowed to carry out forex exchange businesses henceforth. The governor did not give the reasons for revoking the license. The bureau that operates in Narok town is, according to CBK records, run by Sam K. Njonde and Violet M. Kairu and was licensed in December 2003. It mainly served tourist to the famous Masai Mara game reserve. The bureau has no branches in the country. Communications Commission of Kenya (CCK) Receives License Applications Seven companies have applied to the Communications Commission of Kenya for various licenses. Kampala Coaches Ltd has applied for a regional postal courier license to be able to carry out courier business across between Kenya and Uganda. Gateway Courier Services has also applied for a regional courier services license. Essar Payment Services have applied for an international gateway systems and services license. Language Solutions and Business Communications Ltd, Frotcom East Africa Ltd. and Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) have applied for a content services license. Two companies, Shujaa Solutions Ltd and Lantech Ltd, have applied for a license for application services. Comments (1)

thansk for the updates, I haven't last weeks gazette. I guess KCB is joining Barclays and Stanchart in teh race to develop mobile banking apps for customers
