Nairobi, 6 April 2009 --- Thirty seven years of remarkable service and still going strong, Ayton Young & Rubicam Group (AY&R), the second largest agency in East Africa has embarked on a rebranding mission with the aim of driving Pan–African growth. The group’s new name from today will be Young & Rubicam Brands which embodies its global branding as a worldwide leader in integrated communications.
“The name change consolidates our position as the Africa and Indian Ocean Headquarters for our global network, controlling our operations in 33 markets,” commented the Young & Rubicam Brands’ Africa Chairman Chris Harrison.
Young & Rubicam Brands Africa has several branded agency offerings in East Africa, each being a Young & Rubicam Brand: Y&R Advertising, Wunderman Direct and Digital Marketing, Silver Bullet PR and Events, Mediaedge:cia for Media Investments and The Brand Business for Strategic Consultancy.
Over the years Young & Rubicam Brands has launched or created from scratch hundreds of successful brands in Kenya, some of which include, Energiser, Limara, Nivea, Solea, Colgate Toothpaste, Axion Paste, Palmolive Soap, PesaPoint, Yes!, Tamarind, Carnivore, Commercial Bank of Africa, Del Monte and Housing Finance.
“The journey continues, with new offerings and capabilities being planned. Each one will be designed to offer our client partners more choices in terms of ideas, and the channels in which to execute them. These will be offered by bright young people who train and work together across disciplines,” Harrison further commented.
