Nairobi, 20 February 2010 --- Milk filling equipment at the New KCC Nyahururu factory is operational and has packed over 9m packets of milk (approximately 2m liters) since January this year. Previous problems were caused by unstable electrical supply at the factory. The new machines installed from Sweden, were acquired from Tetra Pak Eastern Africa were commissioned December 2009. The equipment which packs long life milk, Tetra Classic Aseptic 200ml TCA (tetrahedron shape pack) and Tetra Fino Aseptic TFA 500ml (pillow pouch shaped) has speeds of 12,000 and 7,200 packs per hour respectively. Tetra Pak has commissioned hundreds such machines to large dairy customers in the region and around the world. This is latest UHT technology.
