Nairobi, 3 May 2011 ---- Dyer & Blair Investment Bank has appointed Mr. Paul Orem, an industry veteran, as its new Chief Executive Officer. Orem, who will also Head Investment Banking, takes over from Kabaki Wamwea, an Executive Director, who has swapped a lucrative career in investment banking for a niche start-up in real estate development.
Dyer and Blair chairman Jimnah Mbaru thanked Kabaki for his contribution to the company over the years and mentioned that Kabaki will continue serving as a Non-Executive Director of Dyer and Blair.
Prior to joining Dyer & Blair, Orem worked with Bank of Africa, CFC Financial Services and Old Mutual Asset Managers, holding various senior management positions as Head of Liabilities & Institutional Banking, Senior Portfolio Manager and Fund Manager. He holds Bachelor of Commerce (Bcom), majoring in Finance and Masters in Applied Finance & Investment.
In charge of Investment Banking at Dyer & Blair from late 2008, Kabaki looks back on a lucrative career in investment banking, having closed over major transactions in oil and gas, financial services, insurance, and hotels across the region in the last 18 months.
