Nairobi, 14 September 2011 --- Del Monte Kenya has expanded its beverage portfolio in Kenya by introducing six new flavors into the market. The introduction of the new flavours is part of the company’s growth and expansion strategy in Kenya and across the COMESA region. To support this launch and expansion, Del Monte is investing KES1bn in the next three years.
Over the past couple of years, consumers have become conscious of the benefits of keeping a healthy lifestyle, thus a strong increase in the demand for juices and other natural and healthy foods. The overall market for fruit juice in Kenya has grown by 25% year on year and at the same time consumers have become more discerning and are looking for a variety of flavors to suit their sophisticated tastes.
The refreshed Del Monte range of fruit juice blends includes Pineapple, Pink Guava, Pineapple & Mango, Pineapple & Passion, and Orange & Pineapple. In addition, the Orange juice blend has been reformulated to align it to the current consumer tastes and preferences. The new flavors are available in newly designed packages of 1l and 200ml in all leading supermarkets and stores across the region.
