Kenya: Press Release: CMA Grants Approval for CIC Insurance Group Listing at the NSE

Nairobi, 16 May 2012 ---The Capital Markets Authority (CMA) Board has approved CIC Insurance Group to list by introduction 2,178,195,820 ordinary shares of KES1 each on the Main Investment Market Segment of the Nairobi Securities Exchange, as part of its mandate to facilitate listing of additional securities in the stock exchange.

While making the announcement, CMA Chief Executive Mrs. Stella Kilonzo said the CMA had granted approval following review of the final Information Memorandum and was satisfied that CIC Insurance Group has made adequate disclosure of material information in accordance with the requirements of the Capital Markets Act and the Capital Markets (Securities) (Public Offers, Listing and Disclosures) Regulations, 2002.

Listing by introduction will enable shareholders of the CIC Insurance Group unlock the value of their investments and also benefit from price discovery.
