Nairobi, 22 June 2012 --- The Capital Markets Authority (CMA) has approved the issue and listing of Ksh4 billion, medium term corporate bond for Consolidated Bank of Kenya Limited in accordance with the Capital Markets (Securities) (Public Offers, Listing and Disclosures) Regulations, 2002, as part of its mandate to facilitate access to financial services within the capital markets in Kenya.
The approval will enable the lender to recapitalize and support growth of customer deposits and its loan book.
In a statement released to newsrooms, the CMA Chief Executive, Mrs. Stella Kilonzo, observed, ‘CMA has reviewed the disclosures by Consolidated Bank of Kenya Limited and is satisfied that all the requirements have been met in accordance with the Capital Markets Act, the Second Schedule and Part C of the Third Schedule to the Capital Markets (Securities) (Public Offers, Listing and Disclosures) Regulations, 2002.’
